Turning the Pages of My Past....

It's been a while since I’ve shared an update, and lately, I’ve been reflecting on my own holistic journey. I was reminded of where it all began—and why this matters as we step out of one season and into a new.

Join me, as I turn the pages of my past...

It was 1985.

I was 27, a young mom with two little ones—just 6 and 7 years old. I had been up all night, watching the clock—minute by minute, hour by hour—waiting for my husband (at the time) to come home.

Just before dawn, the phone rang.

Police.

There had been an accident. My husband survived. One of his friends did not.

I woke my children, bundled them up, and headed to the ER. And somewhere between shock, grief, and the unknown, one quiet thought surfaced:

Something has to change. But what?

In the weeks that followed, I realized— What needed to change didn't start around me, it started within me.

I didn't have language for it then, but what I needed was a pause— a season of rest and reflection.

I didn't know anything about fasting, wellness, or even listening to my body. I didn't know exactly what I needed, but I knew I was desperate for a life-change.

And so, in my own imperfect, desperate beginning, I started my very first "fast" with a chocolate milkshake from HiBoy Drive-In!

Not exactly a healthy start.

But it was a beginning.

A beginning of listening— to my heart, to my body, and to God's gentle invitations.

This morning—40 years later—sitting with my old fasting journals...

I don't see failure.

I see a woman who dared to pause.

Who created space for change.

Who didn't give up—she began.

These pages don't just record my struggle, they reveal God's grace and faithfulness, the quiet unfolding of a life being rebuilt—spirit,

soul, and body.

Because sometimes, the only way to see how far you've come is to look back at where you began.

And with that perspective, hope rises.

New seasons don't always start with big changes,

but with a quiet willingness to grow.

Here's to new beginnings, gentle transitions,

and stepping into my next season with grace and courage.

What quiet beginning might be forming in you for this coming new season? What is it you are seeing?

Stay tuned, in January, I'm preparing something for you that is out of the ordinary for how we normally begin our new year!

When Healing Is Approached Differently

Most health approaches begin with the body or the mind—what to fix, remove, or control.

This space is for women who are learning from a different starting place. Healing begins with a heart at rest, realigns the inner life, and then supports the body—so practices like cleansing and fasting work with you, not against you, and change becomes lasting rather than another restart.
